The Great Loop is a roughly 6,000-mile boating route that circles the eastern United States, primarily through inland waterways, rivers, canals, and the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW).
Spring: The East Coast
It is suggested to head north as the weather warms. Most Loopers like to arrive in May to Chesapeake Bay. In a months time, Loopers can arrive to the Canals when they open in the beginning of June.
Summer: New York & Canada
In the summer months, Loopers make their way through the Great Lakes with the goal to arrive near Chicago by Labor Day.
Fall: River System
Loopers make their way down the river system in the fall, and hold up in Alabama until November 1st.
Winter: Florida & the Bahamas
A great and relaxing place to enjoy the winter.
